As a self-proclaimed academic, I always try to learn something new every day. So far today I've learned 1) how to properly use "zeitgeist" in a sentence, 2) the story behind the iconic I Love NY logo, 3) that I should never call a messenger for a pick up when I'm the only one in the office and I desperately need some coffee (alright, that last one I already knew, but I'm constantly re-learning).
In an effort to provide you with some new info that's actually useful once in a while, I present to you our LupRocks Contributing Experts! Every Friday you'll have an opportunity to hear from a member of this ridiculously talented crew, so tune in and don't miss your opportunity to benefit from their expertise and insight. A little blurb about each of our distinguished experts is below, so please let us know if you have any specific topics you'd like them to address.
Victoria Gomelsky is one of the most talented writers around, and she's more well-traveled than anyone I've met since my 7th grade geography teacher. She's written a front page article for the New York Times, she's a regular contributor to the International Herald Tribune, and editor-in-chief of Couture International Jeweler. A journalist in the true sense of the word, Victoria is an astute observer and a natural teller of tales, and she's going to share with LupRocks readers some of her experiences from her many travels and adventures.
Randi Molofsky, already identified in a previous blog as the personal interior designer of Lup HQ, has an enviable eye for design and style. A prolific and accomplished writer, Randi has a genuine passion for interior design and she's perpetually in the know on what's hot. She's also got an uncanny knack for making things look like a million bucks even when budgets are low. She's going to share with us some of her favorite designs, design tips and her overall good taste in all things design-related.
Truly fabulous photography is the exception and not the rule, but photographer Timothy Hogan is not afraid of breaking the rules. Boasting an impressive client roster that includes David Yurman, Chanel and Calvin Klein and editorial credits that include Vogue, Glamour and InStyle, Timothy's technically exacting pictures exude precision, passion and mystery. He's going to give us a little insight into his world and help us identify the outstanding from the merely acceptable.
Jesse Pickard is one of those guys whose knowledge, bandwidth and acumen never cease to amaze me. A digital marketer specializing in social media, Jesse is the go-to guy for all things web related, and in any given day that I have the pleasure of talking with Jesse, my "things that I learned today" list gets astonishingly longer. He has the rare ability to dumb down information so that even a gal that grew up learning how to use a computer with a D.O.S. operating system can understand, and that's exactly what he's going to do for the readers of LupRocks.com.
Graphic Designer Jeff Chenault is determined to "make the world way less crappy looking" and for the past 15 years he's been doing just that. His cutting edge, sexy, no-holds-bar aesthetic has landed him a wide range of clients in fashion and entertainment. In fact, the awesome cover art that inspired you to actually buy an album verses pirating it online was likely created by Jeff. Opinionated and frank, Jeff tells it like it is which is what he's going to do right here.
Tune in this Friday, November 21, for Victoria Gomelsky's first Contributing Experts blog!
