With great excitement and anticipation I sat down to watch the Oscar’s Red Carpet pre-show last night. Would we have another Swan incident? Or, would we get another show stopper like Hillary Swank’s backless navy dress of a few years back? The verdict: the fashion was almost as boring as the actual ceremony. Don’t get me wrong, the parade of red and black gowns that graced the red carpet were pure works of couture art, but where were the jaw-droppers? Or the I-can’t-believe-she-wore-thats? The most innovative fashion forward looks of the night were worn by Best Actress Winner Marion Cotillard and leading lady of Juno, Ellen Page, who both adorned long necklaces with thier gowns. We love seeing the stars decked out in borrowed diamonds, but we found a nice appreciation for this realistic and out-of-the-box look.
